The Ultimate Champion Rachelle Ann Go returns and she’s moving a bit away from ballads this time, she’s here to rock us all with the classics for a change. Everyone will be surprised at how she has transformed her signature sound the moment you hear the cuts from her fourth album captured live during a band session that she did in just one sitting!
The twenty-one-year-old ‘Search for a Star’ winner has made a big name for herself in the music scene, with incredible thousands of album copies sold to date. Her self-titled album alone garnered a double platinum recognition while the Limited Edition effort released after that is already certified platinum as well. Her high hitting vocal tone also hits high the market shelves for her potential platinum hitting hits.
We've just caught her on a snooty couch still searing with enthusiasm and life. The first blow is about her fourth album, just 'bout the arrangement and workmanship.
Rachelle preferred hits previous sizable recognition in fortifying her album, she told us, “s'yempre dapat 'yung kilala na, sumikat dati, ganyan. Actually dapat 'yun ang unang-una dapat kilala ko na kasi 'yun 'yung time na ang dami-dami kong inaaral na kanta dahil sa “All For Love” na concert. Inuna talaga namin 'yung mga familiar songs. Tapos meron din akong nilagay diyan 'yung “When You Love Someone” na sobra kong favorite dati pa.” Rachelle have just chosen songs with VIVA on her side, “may say din naman ang VIVA pero halos lahat sa choices ako 'yung pumili.”
Like any other recording artist sentiments, a sheer nervous anticipation pounds her heart. She explains, “nakaka-kaba kasi February 5 namin shoot, February 4 dapat rest day ko na.
Alwyn's got two thumps-up with Rachelle as she praised him all the way, “mabait and magaling. Actually hindi niya ako pinapakialaman masyado. Mas gusto niya kasi sarili ko eh. 'Yung iba kasi fini-feed kung anong gagawin eh. Siya gusto niya 'yung sarili kong style,”uplifts Rachelle.
Extending more her sense of gratefulness and gratitude, he praised those individuals at her back saying “yung banda sobrang saya, 'yung back-up singers ang gagaling nila. So parang rehearsal namin walang naging problema at all.
“This Ain't A Love Song” was Rachelle's was the song coached to Rachelle, since it's not quite familiar for her. She thought, “yung “This Ain't A Love Song” kasi hindi siya gan'un ka-familiar sa akin. Nonetheless, she expects to remake the some song style the way she wanted them to be. Expectant she said, “medyo, parang mataas ang expectations and mas maiiba ko 'yung style. Sa “That's What Love Is For” by Amy Grant dapat hindi siya kasama sa line-up eh.
Like any other carefree gals who love to live their sense of freedom, Rachelle is more liberated and experimental. She reminds us, “well, siguro 'yung pagka-rock side ko. When it comes to dressing up siguro mas gusto ko 'yung mag-experiment kasi eh. (smiles). Adding further that in sounds, some technical enhancements furthers the creativity, she asserts, “I think sa editing na lang, hindi sa live.”
TICK TACK TALK
Why did you decide to come-up on all revival songs this time?
They want something new sa akin. Kasi nga 'yung previous albums ko puro original songs, puro power ballads eh. Now kasi, wala pa naman gumagawa ng rock na puro revivals so gusto lang nila (VIVA) ma-iba, gan'un.
How did you grow as an artist for quiet sometime?
How much of your emotion do you put into your songs?
Iba-iba. Mukha nga akong loka-loka dito eh. (smiles) Meron masaya, malungkot pero mostly 'yung nandito sa album nga sad songs eh. Lalo na “Can't Cry Hard Enough” Pakinggan nyo malungkot.
Is there any song in the album that you dedicate to your special someone?
Wala pa naman eh...merong special para sa akin pero wala akong dine-dicatetan yung “When You Love Someone”. First album pa yun, ngayon lang nailagay.
How did you motivate yourself on “When You Love Someone” then?
What can we look forward to for this year?
Mega bar tours, first time ko kasi mag-bar tours actually. Hindi ko pa alam kung may concert. I think they're planning para dito sa album.
Other things you do outside music?
School...naka-enroll ako ngayon sa UP. I'm taking up Associate in Arts. Pero dahil hindi ako full load. Tapos na nga yung midterms and finals noong nand'un lahat sa States.
How has fame changed you?
Ngayon lahat kahit paano s'yempe natuto kailangan maayos.
