At the early dawn of his career Brian Josef is rather an athletic and sociable hunk scampering his academic campus. He commenced, “dati varsity ako ng basketball. Socially he is indulge, he continues, “saka masyado akong active sa school noon marami akong sinasalihang organizations.” Until his musical renaissance was awakened and take toll in his life, he told us, “yung music kasi sa akin andoon na s'ya since dati pa, grade school pa lang ako. Yung unang beses kung kumanta nasa four years old ako.

Calling it his vocation, he continues, “then, calling din siguro, kasi mahilig sa music yung daddy saka mommy ko. Kaya yung influence ko sa music lumawak.” By the virtue of his parents musical influence and an eager learned youth, Brian began to learn musical instruments, such as, “guitar, yun yung una kung natutunan. Saka piano, bass, kunting drums. Actually lahat eh. Kasi mahilig ako sa tunog.” At the other side of the coin, he is equally creative and innovative, he continued, “mahilig akong mag-inovate ng tunog.

Choosing between two promising careers is not fast for Brian, one cannot paddle on two rivers at the same time specially when the criterion gets tough. No'ng narinig nya, that night nagbigay na kaagad s'ya ng word, na “sige let's work-out on your album.”

Now, he is putting his best foot forward, taming the crowd with his comely vocal rendition.

Kaya maraming experiences.

PICKING UP BITS FROM THE PIECE

So how was the feeling that you've finally have an album now?

Overwhelming! So, masaya sa pakiramdam.

What is “crazy” and what is “incredible” in your debut album?

What makes you decide to make it all-original?

Gusto kung mag-inovate. Saka yung album ko Brian Josef, gusto kung makilala as Brian Josef. Gusto kung makilala through my music.

How do you label your songs?

Are you genre sensitive when making a song?

Besides “Crazy But True,” what other tracts do you like in your album, and why?

“All I Need” yung favorite track ko doon, track number 4.

If I were to buy your album how would you convince me to do so?

(Laughs) Origanal, bago. Saka I really put a lot of heart doon sa album.

Can we expect for more?

Of course!

PERSONALLY SPEAKING

What is your main reason why you've been into music?

How do you quantify your musical passion?

Do you consider music as your lifetime career or you are thinking of something else after this? I guess lifetime talaga. Solid talaga ako sa music.

At the early dawn of your career, what do you expect to do more?

Gusto ko mag produce ng album.

If you were to ask me to attend your show, how would you tell me why I should be there?

Who do you think is in need of more music, the artist or the fans themselves?

Parihas. May nabasa nga ako eh.

How do you understand good music?

Kapag may puso. Kapag totoo yung sinasabi.

Do you believe that music has the power to shape one's character for better or worse?

Ugali siguro hindi. Pero yung thinking mo mababago kasi marami kang matutonan. Dami kung naaplay sa sarili ko. Saka pati yung perseverance mo pati yung dedication mo, passion mo. Dahil kapag may minahal kang isang bagay lahat magagawa mo naman eh.

What is the first thing the fans must know about Brian Josef?

“Crazy” (laughs).

Do you believe that a musician's physical features affect his music?

How do you prepare of becoming famous someday?

Will you not get tired of entertaining you fans? Hindi naman, kasi andyan sila eh. Sumusupport sila, pasalamatan natin sila. Short message to your readers and fans?

If you want to do something, just do it don't mind what other people say just follow your heart. Kasi, in the end wala kang ibang sisisihin, sarili mo lang. Saka, thank you, thank you for your support (laughs). Please grab a copy of my album (laughs).
